Regular Beef vs. ECOBEEF
Regular beef cattle without proven feed efficient genetics average 2.8% DMI and take 16 to 18 months to reach 1400 pounds. That is 39.2 pounds of DM every day. It takes the regular beef animal 90 days longer to reach market, so it will have consumed an average of 3528 more pounds of feed for the same amount of yield. At todays feed costs; that is nearly an additional $600.00 per head.
Research indicates that methane increases as dry matter intake increases. Based on that theory, the Lucky 7 genetics will produce approximately 28% less methane emissions per day when compared to regular beef cattle. By bending the arrow this much we are really creating a new breed. We know its the key to feed efficiency. We call this line Davinci.

Beef vs. Bison
Reminiscing the old nostalgic days of bison roaming the range, fertilizing the soil, cleaning the dead grass, and reducing the forest fire hazard.
Now imagine Davinci feed efficient cattle grazing those lands and making a sustainable food source for the world. Bison need to eat 2% or less DMI (dry matter intake) of their body weight per day and take, an average, 2 to 2.5 years to get to market. The average weight of a 2-year-old bison bull is approximately 800 lbs. Davinci cattle need 2% or less DMI of their body weight and are ready for market in as little as 13 months at 1400 pounds.
The average person eats 55.6 lbs. of beef per year. One bison will feed about 8.6 people per year. The Davinci cattle will feed nearly 15.9 people per year. Comparing the two, the Davinci cattle genetics will eat almost 54% less feed as the bison but produce almost twice as much nutritious protein in just over half the amount of time as bison and produce less methane. True sustainability.

Recently Lucky 7’s data was analyzed by an outside source and our herd was considered 35% more efficient than the average beef cow herd. Raising cattle has been our livelihood since 1895, we take great pride in feeding the world.
